Construct Your Triangle of Growth—with Aaron Velky and Ian Lobas – EP 186

You might be lying to yourself! In this episode, Aaron Velky and host Ian Lobas challenge you to engage in introspection as they discuss the game-changing trio that work together as the foundation of your growth. They cover some specific changes you can make to become the person you want to become and achieve the things you want to achieve. They outline what it takes to achieve massive growth and the dangerous path many people take when they’re busy doing everything under the sun but not building their foundation.

Aaron and Ian also paint a picture of the information addict and provide an alternative to drowning in information as they reveal what happens when energy is focused. Best of all, they guide you through putting your series of goals into motion without getting overwhelmed, and they show you how your mindset and skillset will give you guidance on what is needed to accomplish the goal.

This is your chance to learn why setting consequences means you’re setting yourself up for failure. Follow their helpful tips to prevent stagnation and self-sabotaging behaviors. You’ll understand why you should stop beating yourself up and how to apply the concept of the “Board of Advisors” to stop living someone else’s version of success.

If you’ve ever wanted to make the income you choose to support the freedom or lifestyle you want, you need to listen to Aaron and Ian’s conversation.

Aaron is an exceptional financial coach who took inspiration from previously coaching youth soccer within the Pipeline Soccer Club. In 2015, he co-founded Ortus Academy in Baltimore where financial habits are shaped into taking charge of a meaningful life. The mission of the Ortus Academy is driven by his knowledge of business operations and development, coaching and leadership, and expertise in social media marketing.

Growing Through the Highs & Lows of Life—with Aaron Amuchastegui and Ian Lobas – EP 185

Aaron Amuchastegui has had some of the lowest lows and highest highs one can imagine.

In this episode, Ian Lobas talks with this inspiring family man about his incredible journey and the powerful lessons he’s learned along the way.
It’s hard to believe that Aaron grew up in a small town in Oregon and struggled to fit in when he transitioned from high school to college. It is easier to believe that he was the high school valedictorian and was voted most likely to succeed. Today he’s a Christian, construction and real estate entrepreneur and Ironman but there were a few times when Aaron’s world came crashing down.

Aaron openly tells the story of how hanging out with the wrong people and doing crazy things landed him in a Southern California prison for two years. He reveals how that experience woke him up and made him hell bent to make up for lost time when he returned to society.

His determination paid off. Aaron recalls the awesome feeling of making six-figures at only 25 years of age but he also takes us on the rollercoaster ride that was his life after that. Between a market crash, then recovering only to get put out of business, most of us would have given up, but not Aaron and his wife Kaleena. Their struggles helped them to appreciate the real priorities in life and they eventually decided to pull their kids out of school and created what they call The 5-Hour School Week, an innovative approach to education that has revolutionized their family’s life.

Take a listen to learn how, like Aaron and Kaleena, you can learn from difficult experiences, rebuild even stronger than before and change the trajectory of your life.

When you’re done listening, be sure to check out an earlier episode in which Ian chats with Jon Vroman, who is mentioned in this episode.

What You Will Learn

The fear of not fitting in

Moving past bad decisions

How easy it is to be wasteful with money

The more successful a couple gets, the further apart they may grow

Healthier ways to learn

Limitless Possibilities—with Glenn Lobas and Ian Lobas – EP 184

No one wants to go to their grave saying “I coulda, woulda, shoulda…” Yet very often we simply talk about what we’d like to do without ever taking the necessary action.

In this episode, Ian Lobas’ dad Glenn shares his life lessons that can help us avoid staying stuck. Having learned about responsibility and  consequences from his own dad, Glenn is well-positioned to provide useful advice on seizing opportunities that many people may not see.

In 1987, he founded his own global air freight company, Ian International. Since then, Glenn has founded a total of three international shipping companies and currently serves as President of Customs & Trade Logistics.

Glenn joins his son to discuss what happens when you adopt a mindset of curiosity and the importance of being comfortable in your own skin. They outline the pitfalls of letting a position or material things define you and they point you in the right direction to get out of your comfort zone and find your purpose.
